“We’re all going to miss the Blue Angels, but we’re still going to have a show,” said W.A. “Buck” Lee, Santa Rosa Island Authority executive director. “I hope people show support for the Blues and come out to the show.”
The traditional July 12-13 air show will go on with all the vendors, concessions and aerobatics without the Blues, Lee said during a Wednesday news conference.
Airware, an official vendor for Blue Angels gear, will set up at the event and Lee is requesting an autograph signing sessions with Blue Angel pilots the morning of the civilian air shows. Other vendors are being contacted by the Pensacola Beach Chamber.
Atlanta-based R&B group, the Tams, will perform a Bands on the Beach-like concert at 7 p.m. in the Gulfside Pavilion on Casino Beach.
